SETU offers local language search engines for many world languages. Currently our systems are accessible live on web. SETU’s Indian language search engine is deployed at Rediff – Indian Language Search. Currently our technology can search from more than 70 different world languages. The languages cover most of the languages spoken in Scandinavian, Eastern and Central European and Middle Eastern countries.
These local language search engines automatically learn the morphological and spelling variations found in a language and process the user’s queries accordingly. This would ensure that you would not miss out on relevant documents. For example, the search engine can pick the spelling variations of ‘आनन्द’ and ‘आनंद’. Similarly, for example, a query such as ‘kansanmusiikki’ (folk music) in Finnish would pick documents containing both ‘kansan’ and ‘musiikki’. Many such characteristics of the language are used in intelligently searching the documents there by ensuring a high recall of search.
